The Incumbent Worker Training Program provides grant funding of up to $25,000 for customized training for existing for-profit and healthcare related not-for-profit businesses that results in layoff aversion. Through this customer-driven program, Tennessee is able to effectively retain and keep businesses competitive through skills upgrades and process improvement training for existing full-time employees.

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development administers the Incumbent Worker Training Program through the local TN Career Centers in northwest Tennessee. The program is structured to be flexible to meet your particular business training objectives.

During an active grant period, applications are submitted to the Northwest Tennessee Workforce Board. The applications will be reviewed for competitveness and submitted to the TDLWD Workforce Services Division for final approval.
